What is the path of your weight loss goal?

Working out & not losing any weight. Skimping on the right amount of aerobic activity might keep you from reaching your weight-loss goals.

You go to the gym, work out, but you still aren't losing any weight. What gives? It's a frustrating scenario but not an impossible one to change. Here are three reasons why you aren't losing weight at the gym & what to do about them.

You're Not Doing Enough [Intense] Cardio Aerobic activity is the most efficient way to burn calories, so make sure you are consistent with cardio workouts. We recommend doing at least 30-45 minutes of cardio, three to four times a week. It's also important to pick the right kind of cardio workout. Studies show that faster-paced workouts help release fat-burning hormones in the body & that interval training is key to losing unwanted belly fat. Still not convinced that you should step up your gym workouts? A recent study said that a 45-minute vigorous workout gets three times the net calories burned compared to the same 45 minutes spent walking; it also increases metabolic rate for up to 14 hours post-workout. To melt away unwanted pounds, choose high-intensity workouts like intervals, running, boot camp, or spin.
You Aren't Really Committed You showed up to the gym, which is awesome. But what's not awesome is how you might be spending your time there — weight loss is as much a mental game as a physical one. Mindlessly walking on the treadmill while flicking through a copy of Us Magazine isn't the best way to go about weight loss, & neither is talking yourself out of a workout once you're there. [You can lose a calorie burn of over 50 calories from just shaving five minutes off of a workout!] Commit yourself by finding a specific goal or personal reason that inspires you to lose the weight & use that as motivation to maintain your fitness routine. Along the way, set smaller goals for yourself & celebrate in some small way when you meet them. This will help you stay focused the entire way through.
You Don't Strength Train Even though cardio is key to weight loss, a good fitness program should incorporate one to two strength training sessions per week. Strength training can reduce overall body fat by three percent in just 10 weeks since muscle burns more calories than fat. & don't forget the after-burn: after an hour-long strength training session, the average woman burns an extra 100 calories over the next 24 hours. Maximize your time by rolling cardio & strength workouts into one. Circuit training intervals & bootcamp-style workouts focus on mixing bursts of cardio with serious strength training moves, but if you don't have time for a long session, perform supersets of compound moves instead.

Sexual harassment claims - Details of Amanda Knox's life behind bars

Prison officials tricked the U.S. student by lying to her about a medical condition.

Amanda Knox, who has been in seclusion since her release from an Italian prison, is finally venturing out.
Her return to the public was no more than a trip to a store for toothpaste & a chocolate bar, but it was a deliciously simple act that had been denied her during her four years in an Italian prison.

Ironically, one of her last acts in prison was the inmate ritual of snapping her toothbrush & carrying it outside the walls of Capanne prison before throwing it away.
Knox's foray into the public comes as more details of her prison ordeal emerge, specifically how she was sexually harassed.

Knox's younger sister Deanna told ABC News that she saw the remnants of the harassment firsthand while visiting her sister in prison.

"There was something right in front of me & so I put my arm over it," Deanna Knox said.
Deanna Knox said she covered up scribbled words that read "Amanda is a whore."
On one occasion, a male guard reportedly entered Knox's cell alone, despite a policy against it, & made sexual remarks, ABC News has confirmed. On another occasion, a high ranking prison official allegedly ordered Knox into his office at night & wanted to talk about sex.

Amanda Knox Was Sexually Harassed in Prison
"I think the Italian courts...the first time around practically made sure that Amanda was going to be harassed in prison since they made her sex life so much of a focus of the first trial, " said Vanity Fair's Judy Bachrach who has covered the case extensively.

Shortly after her arrest, prison officials tricked Knox, falsely telling her that her medical check-up revealed that she was HIV positive & asked her for a list of lovers for health reasons. The list that a distraught Knox provided to officials was soon leaked & became headlines in tabloid newspapers.

"Please oh please," she wrote in her prison diary at the time. "Let it not be true. I don't want to die."

ABC News legal analyst Dan Abrams said that Knox could have the basis for a lawsuit but filing one would require a return to Italy.

Knox, 24, was released from prison earlier this month when she & her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 27, successfully appealed their murder conviction. They had been accused of murdering Knox's British roommate Meredith Kercher in a cottage the two women shared in Perugia, Italy.

Sollecito has not spoken publicly since his release but his father told the press that his son is getting used to being at home.

"It's as if he has been reborn & he is getting used to the simple things in life again, things that he has not been able to do for four years & this will take some time," said Francesco Sollecito.

Meanwhile, a juror who overturned Knox's conviction told Italy's state-run RAI television that he has no doubt that Knox & Sollecito are innocent.

"I saw the faces of these two kids, & they couldn't bluff. They didn't bluff. My point of view is that these kids weren't guilty. They weren't there," said Mauro Chialli.

TV's highest paid child star turns 18

"Two and a Half Men" actor Angus T. Jones earns $300,000 an episode.

Two & a Half Men will technically become three men on Saturday, Oct. 8 when Angus T. Jones turns 18. Jones, who's been playing Jon Cryer's underachieving son, Jake, since he was 9, has been one of the most successful, not to mention loaded, young stars in the biz. Here are eight things to know about the low-key actor:

1. Jones was born in Austin, Texas. His middle name is Turner & he has a younger brother named Otto.

What's on your Watchlist? Create one & add your favorites, like Two & a Half Men

2. Last year, Jones became the highest-paid child TV actor after signing a $300,000-per-episode contract, guaranteeing him $7.8 million over two seasons. Oh yeah, there's also that hefty $500,000 signing bonus. Under his previous contract, he earned $250,000 an episode. The next highest-paid minor on the list: iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove ($180,000 per episode).

3. Jones & his family moved to Los Angeles when he was 4, but he never wanted to be an actor. Instead, his mom took him to auditions hoping he could make some money for his college savings. Jones started doing commercials & had a small part in the 1999 film Simpatico. He landed his first major film role, See Spot Run opposite David Arquette, when he was 6.

4. Jones was the only child actor Chuck Lorre & Men producers saw for the part of Jake. Lorre asked Jones to audition after seeing his turn as Dennis Quaid's son in The Rookie & immediately offered him offered the job afterward. Jones learned he was cast as he was leaving the audition.

Exclusive: Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer & Angus T. Jones on the new Two & a Half Men

5. Men is notorious for its racy jokes & sexual innuendoes, but when he was younger, Jones never asked his castmates or producers to explain the adult humor to him — even if they wanted to. "At one point I asked him if he wanted to know & he said no," Cryer told the Los Angeles Times in 2009. "He doesn't bring it up with me. He's not like a lot of boys."

6. In his spare time, Jones enjoys snowboarding & playing video games, including Rock Band 2 & Call of Duty: World at War.

7. Had Men ended after the Sheen debacle earlier this year, Jones, now a high school senior, would've been perfectly fine with it as he would've returned to school for a full regular year, which he's never done before. Education has always been a main focus of the actor & he plans to go to college. After that? Who knows? Jones has said he's not sure if he wants to continue acting.

8. While Cryer told TV Guide Magazine in September that he has not heard from Sheen at all & does not have his number, Jones & Sheen have been keeping in touch. "I talk to him every now & then," Jones told E! "I still want to hang out with him & stuff. We're still friends. There's no hard feelings at all."

Two & a Half Men airs Mondays at 9/8c on CBS.

Bieber’s New a Big Expense for Toy Maker

Justin Bieber's haircut costs man $100,000
When teen sensation Justin Bieber switched up his locks, it was bad news for one guy.

When Justin Bieber decided to change his hairstyle last February, Jay Foreman was not amused. The founder & CEO of toy manufacturer the Bridge Direct, estimates that Bieber's small change cost Foreman's company a big chunk of change, around $100,000.

His company makes dolls based on Bieber's likeness. Not surprisingly, the dolls (we refuse to call them action figures) are a huge hit with kids. Foreman related his tale of woe to CNN Money.

Foreman was sitting at his desk when he heard shrieks coming from his co-workers. They'd just learned that Bieber had changed his trademark haircut, rendering the company's hot-selling line of dolls outdated. Foreman had already begun manufacturing a new round of dolls with the star's original haircut.

Foreman says that there was nothing he could do at that point because the dolls were already being made. However, during the dolls' second run, he decided to change their hairstyle to reflect their real-life inspiration. The move, he estimates, cost his business around $100,000. But Foreman isn't bitter. He says those are the risks when you make products based on a celebrity.

It's no surprise that Bieber's haircut is one of the most popular styles in Yahoo! Search over the past month, but he isn't at the top of the charts. That title belongs to Tom Brady. The Patriots quarterback's haircut inspired more searches than any other celebrity 'do.
